Northern Aberdeenshire
North Aberdeenshire is the area to the south of the
North Sea coast of Aberdeenshire; this covers the former county of Banff and
Buchan. The main road from Moray enters the area just east of Cullen; this road
then continues east, following close to the line of the coast as it passes
through Portsoy, Banff and Macduff where it heads inland. The main road then
turns towards the coast again and passes through
Fraserburgh at which point this
road then turns south, heading straight for Aberdeen, completely bypassing
Peterhead; an alternative route heads towards Peterhead, but still bypasses the
town itself.
